AI2 Diaper (Lg)
We first "prepared" the diaper by washing it. I washed it on hot/cold cycle with 2tbsp homemade laundry detergent (recipe on blog under "Green" tab). Rinsed it in hot/cold and did an extra rinse. I then line dried the diaper and snap in inserts. This is how I wash ALL my diapers so I just did what I usually do, your washing routine may differ slightly.
We couldn't wait to get this diaper on my little man, it was just soooo cute! The diaper was easy to snap, however not so easy for my little guy to escape from! Within the first hour or so, my little guy broke in his diaper with a nice "little" poopy diaper! The Oh Sew Green AI2 diaper held up wonderfully, not even the idea of a leak. This was the awesome part as far as I was concerned. My husband, however, had the distinct pleasure of spraying out the diaper. He was a champ, took the diaper and the inserts in and rinsed. I asked him after what he thought. "That was better than the pocket diapers, I like that a lot!" He loved that the inserts were so easy to rinse out and that it kept the "stuff" off the main part of the diaper (the shell). I myself have rinsed out the diaper since then and I have to say that yes it is indeed much easier than the pocket diapers that we've been using, basically because you don't have to rinse the diaper, pull out the inserts, then rinse the inserts. With this diaper, you just rinse it all at once and you're done. Very easy!
One of my tests for a diaper is the "All Night Test". My little guy wore his diaper over night, NO LEAKS! This to me was the "extra credit" points I needed to put me over the top of liking this diaper. Now, lets talk BULK. I found this diaper to be a lot less bulky than my pocket diapers. My little guy wears two inserts in the pocket diapers at all times because he's a super soaker, as I like to call it. This diaper still has the 2 inserts but less bulk, which I tend to like because his bum doesn't look HUGE in his clothes.
Overall, I would recommend this diaper to my close family and friends, I would then of course recommend them to you and your little people. I give this diaper an A+ on my grade scale.
Sandwich/Snack Bags:Upon opening these baggies, we were first struck with how cute they were! These were purchased with my kids in mind, I gave Racheal an idea of what my kids liked and allowed her to run with it. She did an amazing job and my children LOVE these bags.
We've put a variety of snacks in the baggies, we've yet to put a sandwich in the sandwich bags so I cannot tell you how the sandwich holds up to freshness and whatnot. I can tell you that these have held up to my childrens snacks and kept the messes off my floor. I've taught my kids that when they're done to simply turn the bags unside out and wipe them clean, then they put their bags in the wash hamper where I wash them and line dry them, easy easy! Once I've had a chance to place a sandwich in the bags I will edit my review to include that part of it. In the meantime, these bags are well made, attractive, easy to clean, and "kid approved". I give these bags and A on my grade scale, I definately recommend these bags for anyone looking to cut back on plastic baggies, the trash they produce and the money they waste. These save trash and save money, which is a huge added bonus in my book.
Mama Cloth-Pantyliners
I LOVED the prints on these pantyliners when I first saw them on the Oh Sew Green Facebook page, so I wasn't surprised when I opened the package. I was surprised at how thin they were, given they were made of fabric. I have to say that about a year ago, the thought of cloth pantyliners was NOT something I would have even entertained in my mind. Now, I am so glad that I got over that. Using cloth in conjunction with the Diva Cup has saved me a ton of money (which is honestly why I started using cloth to begin with) and I feel amazing that I'm not throwing a bunch of trash in the garbage everytime I have my "Lady Time".
These pantyliners were not as thin as the pantyliners you buy in the store (the paper ones). They are however thinner than you would imagine cloth pantyliners to be. They also fold up real compact so they are wonderful to fit into your purse, gym bag, diaper bag, or whatever you carry with you. They snap so they stay put really well, and they hold what they are supposed to hold, which is nice. Even with store bought pantyliners I would worry about having an "Oh NO!" moment, not with these. These pantyliners are very reliable, durable, and adorable! I would recommend them to anyone and will purchase more for myself and my daughters when they get to that point. On my grade scale, these definately get an A.
*I was NOT paid or compensated by Oh Sew Green or any other WAHM for this review, my review is of my honest opinion of Oh Sew Green, it's owner/creator Racheal, and the Oh Sew Green products.
