2 Weeks of Insanity!

The last two weeks you may or may not have noticed my absense from Blogspot and Facebook.  I wasn't posting new posts but I was seriously busy and never seemed to find enough hours in my day to finish all my tasks that I wanted to complete. As you may or may not know, I homeschooled my girls last year (their 2nd and 4th grade year). Upon completion of their school year, we gave the choice to either continue on with homeschooling, or to attend public school. They both opted for public school for reasons that are their own. I told them that I would support their decision. So, the last two weeks, we've been preparing for their journey back into public school. You wouldn't think this would be a huge task but it's proven to be harder than we thought. Alas though, we did get it done & my girls are good to go on their first day!

September 2nd is my little mans birthday, his 3rd to be exact. Because of having to tighten the purse strings (so to speak), I've had to get creative with his party and presents. I've made him a felt story board that I really think he's going to get lots of great use out of. I also bought him some preschool workbooks for  $.99 each, he's going to LOVE those because their like his "Sissy's school work". Now that I have all this figured out, I don't need to worry about his party, just have to sit back and enjoy the party!

As if we hadn't had enough of a busy time, we also added to new "family members" to the crew. We were at Petco this weekend for one of our trips to get dog food for our 4yr old Pit Bull/Lab, Chaos. They had these cats and dogs there from a local shelter. There were so many cute animals and my girls fell in love with two in particular. My oldest wanted this really adorable tabby & my youngest daughter fell in love with a little male pit bull, so cute! My husband and I talked it over and agreed to give the girls a choice of getting their birthday presents early, they both (of course) agreed that they wanted their new pets as their birthday presents. I should tell you that their birthdays are in October and November. So, we brought home Miley (the tabby) & Aden (the pit bull). You would think that it's me that's busy with these little guys, you'd be wrong. My girls have been doing a phenomenal job taking care of their pets, they've been doing everything...so far. We'll see what the future holds but for now, they are taking the brunt of the work on themselves for their little family members & I couldn't be prouder.
